Wine Defects Workshop

Have you ever wondered what causes cork taint, what it smells like, and how this wine fault differs from a wine that is oxidized? Would you like to be able to identify the difference between a wine with lactic taint and one spoiled by wild yeast? Have you ever wondered if it is possible to correct a wine with a nail polish remover aroma, or a wine that has smoke taint caused by smoke from forest fires? Steve Foisie will take you through a close examination of the more common aromatic defects found in red and white wines.
This BEWBC-sponsored workshop on wine flaws and faults offers and an opportunity to experience (smell) common aromatic wine defects in red and white wine. You learn what causes these defects, their impact on wine, and understand what if anything can be done to correct the fault.
If there is time following the presentation, participants may bring a wine to the workshop to have it assessed for flaws or faults. Unfortunately, there won’t be enough time to conduct chemical testing during the workshop. Fee $10 for members including family members, $20 for nonmembers. We will provide a Survey Monkey RSVP.
