Winfest Rules

Winefest Entry Forms

Bottle now, avoid bottle shock and impress the judges. We have the judges all lined up to critique and comment on our wines. See the judges’ bios. The judges have diverse backgrounds and will be providing professional assessments of our wines. One of the greatest values (other than bragging rights if you score well) is the critique we receive of the wines. Each year we get good suggestions on how to make better wines. Perhaps this is why Lettie Teague’s Wall Street Journal wine blog suggested that BEWBC may be the best wine club on the planet.

Here is the Winefest process:

Entries: Members complete the entry form for each wine you enter by July 5th using the entry forms included in this news letter by July 5. Completing the forms by 5th allows us to group the wines and establish categories for the judging. If you are unable to get your forms completed by July 5th go ahead and bring your entry forms and two bottles of wine per entry on Friday night and we will do our best to get them entered in the data base. Mail your entries and entry fees to Dennis Campbell 3905-183st SW, Lynnwood, WA. 98037. Or send your entries and fees to Paul Woodward at M/S 5C-AC.

Preliminaries: Members show up at the preliminaries where we will judge each other’s wines using the same judging criteria the professionals use. Ribbons are awarded based on the members scoring of the wines. This is a great learning process for the members. See the Winefest preliminaries flyer for additional details. Note: If you enter wines but will not be able to bring your wines to the preliminaries please make arrangements for someone to get them to the preliminaries or deliver them to Kathryn Chalfan This email address is being protected from spambots. Finals: Judges will judge wines from noon until around 3:30. Members arrive at Steve and Deb’s at 3:30 for pot luck socializing, kids play time and networking. Awards will be given after the scoring is tallied. You will have a chance to personally receive one-on-one advice from wine industry experts. All for free!!
