On Thursday, March 28th, we held our annual BEWBC March Madness wine event. It was a terrific event with 30 participants and 16 club made wines entered. Thank you to those that attended and entered either a homemade wine and/or a commercial wine. In addition to the club made wine, we had a great lineup of commercial wines from club alumni and commercial wines using BEWBC vineyard sources. Congratulations to Paul Woodward, whose 2011 Syrah/Grenache blend was our club wine winner! Paul's wine advanced the farthest to the final four against three commercial wines.
The event was held at club alumn Brad Sherman's new tasting room in SODO, "The Old World Tasting Room". Many thanks to Brad for hosting us. We look forward to including this Seattle location for consideration of future club events. It was great to see some new faces of those club members who live in Seattle or points further and find it difficult to attend our events in the north end.
