Combined Annual Holiday Social

Sunday, January 23rd, 2009

6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Greetings. After the hectic holiday season, we’ve got a date set for a Winter Social, take two. This will be a nice informal meeting focusing on time to taste, chat, and munch. This year we would like to see each and every one of you and your families participate.

For this year’s Winter Social, we are looking to have a low-key, easy meeting. Everyone should bring a bottle of wine or a few bottles of beer to share with everyone. In addition, please bring your favorite cheese and crackers. Please bring something unique (try to avoid the “norms” like cheddar, swiss, Velveta, and pepperjack). There will be no fee for the meeting.

In addition, we will be conducting our “People’s Choice” round for the Variant brewing competition. You’ll be tasting a bunch of the entries and picking out your favorites. Your scores will be combined with the BJCP judging scores to determine the Variant Competition Winner. Finally, we’ll have the usual annual gift exchange as well as covering board nominations. So please come out to celebrate the new year with your fellow beer and wine makers.

General

  • This is a family affair, so everyone is invited. Bring a beverage to share with your friends and fellow “fermenters”
  • For those bringing children, we will have an activities table set up with various projects for our younger guests.

Food:

  • Please bring your favorite cheese and crackers
  • Soda and coffee will be provided for all ages and tastes
  • The club will provide plates and utensils

Activities:

  • We will be conducting a Gift Exchange. To participate, just wrap up a bottle of homemade wine, 6-pack of homebrew, or whatever and we’ll place it under the tree. You’re certain to go home with something interesting!
