Everything a wine maker needs to know
about use of oak, oak barrels and much more!
Join us for a fascinating & informative presentation , with discussion on use of oak in winemaking presented by one of our foremost club experts Steve Foisie. Free wine tasting & social begins at 6pm , presentation will begin at 7pm.
The class will include an in depth look of the following subjects: Barrel construction, influence of oak on wine composition (French vs. American ACX Ply), use of Extracts, Oxidation – reduction, factors to consider when purchasing a barrel, maintenance, care, and wine maturation.
There will be an opportunity to taste wines that have had various oak treatments for comparison.
This is a once in a blue moon opportunity to get first hand information that will take your wines to the next level.
