WINE EVENT: THE GREAT RED WINES OF ITALY,  Hosted by BEWBC and Joe Sikora*
*AND wine expert/wine buyer/sommelier/wine educator Arnie Millan plans to join us (if available)

WHEN: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH, 6:30PM (ARRIVE @6PM, browse the shop, taste a warm-up wine, program starts promptly at 6:30pm)

WHERE: WINE WORLD & SPIRITS, Wallingford (400 NE 45th St, Seattle, WA, 206-402-6086, just off I-5)  http://shop.wineworldspirits.com/

WHAT:
We all know of the GREAT wines of Tuscany and Piedmont – and we WILL taste them and discuss them at the tasting.  BUT what about the premier wines of some of the other regions of Italy?  Like Umbria and Campania?  One of the wines from one of these regions is known as the "Barolo of the South" and its grape one of the 3 "noble grapes of Italy" (along with Sangiovese and Nebbiolo) and possibly the OLDEST grape sold commercially in the world (AND now it's known as one of the up and coming wines of Italy) – do you know it?  Well, let's try it and some others and discuss them relative to the tried and true wines of Tuscany and Piedmont.

Italian wines are made for food ... well at least for Italian food.  We'll have some nibbles, but if anyone wants to bring any appetizery kind of food to share, that would be most welcomed.

Note that there will be a $10 per person charge for this event (for guests as well).  So PLEASE RSVP BY FRIDAY FEBRUARY 20TH to the survey link ( https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/G5XL6VQ)
