French Oak Chips for sale
I am cutting back on my wine making and have a sealed, 4 pound bag of medium toast French Oak chips that I would like to sell at cost. $38. Sorry, I do not want to split up the bag.
I add chips in the very early stage of barrel aging red wine as all of my barrels are neutral. I typically add about 1 cup of chips for every 8 gallons of red wine and rack them out of the barrel after one to two months. Normal range for dosing is .5 to 3 pounds per 100 gallons depending on taste.
If you are concerned about this being too much, know that if the chips are kept in the original bag, in a clean, dry place, the chips will last almost indefinitely.
