Hello BEWBC Members –
The Boeing Employees Wine and Beer Club would like to invite you to attend a club wine event – Pinot Noir! with a focus on Oregon Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir WINEMAKING – hosted by BEWBC & Brad Sherman (at his winery!). The tasting will also include a commercial Pinot Noir from a source available to us this year.
PLEASE RSVP - click on this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7VVNHHH
WHEN: THURSDAY, June 21st, 7:00PM – 9:00PM
WHERE: Michael Florentino Cellars
(19501 144th Ave NE, Suite C 1200, Woodinville, WA 98072)
WHAT:
- Pinot Noir is Oregon's greatest grape, and perhaps the best Pinot Noir outside of France. The focus will be on Oregon Pinot Noirs, including an overview of the various AVAs of the Willamette Valley.
- The tasting and discussion will include factors affecting Pinot Noir wine/style, including growing region/area as illustrated by comparison with a sample from Burgundy (Pinot Noir's ancestral homeland)
- Tasting will include a commercial Pinot Noir from a vineyard that is available to us to purchase from this year!! See offering in recent email from BEWBC.
- Tasting will include a Chardonnay as well, since Oregon Chardonnay is now available to us this year from that same vineyard. Like Pinot for red's, Chardonnay is Oregon's premier white grape.
- Discussion will include Pinot Noir winemaking - some considerations that are unique to PN vs. other red varietals.
