Hello fellow winemakers,

Winefest 2018 is Saturday August 4th. We currently have about 50 wines entered. New this year, we are allowing wine entered into previous Winefest, even those that have won category awards. Sorry, but no previous Best in Show winners allowed. Please take a few minutes to enter wines into the competition via the following website:

We have a terrific potluck and wine tasting planned. As mentioned in Dennis Campbell’s host letter sent earlier this week, our club president Mike Doherty will be smoking a beef brisket. We’ll also have rib-eye steak and salmon. I’m also trying to arrange live music this year from one of our Boeing music clubs. They are willing to perform for food and wine, so please consider bringing an extra bottle to share.

We’ve received some comments regarding wine drop-off locations. To encourage more entries and participation, I’m pleased to announce additional wine drop-off locations. Hopefully, this will make it more convenient for those living in Seattle or further south. The following are the drop off locations:

Don’t have any wines to enter? Please join us to taste and appreciate the wines made by the club.

Ever thought about making wine? Come see what is possible and discuss with club members how to get started. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn, and share ideas on wine making.

For the potluck, we are providing main course meats and soft drinks for kids (and basics - plates, glasses, plastic ware).  We are asking you to bring side dishes and desserts to accompany the entrées. Try to follow this alphabetical spread by your last name to ensure we have enough of every course.

            A thru J - Dessert

            J thru Z - Appetizers/Salads/Side dishes

If you would like to help out in making this year’s Winefest another outstanding event, please give me a call or drop me an email. The help is always welcome. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in your club.

I look forward to seeing you and tasting your wines this summer!
